Vicar Heston Groenewald and Student Rabbi Anna Dyson's friendship goes back a long way, to when Heston first arrived in Leeds over a decade ago. They met through Anna's previous project, ToastLoveCoffee a social enterprise community cafe in Harehills, and have since formed a friendship based on mutual respect, willingness to 'go there' and talk about the difficult stuff, and through that share a deep commitment to modelling kindness, respect, friendship and support across our faith backgrounds.

When Heston invited Anna to be his church's 'Rabbi in Residence', Anna didn't think twice, and so this coming year, 2026-7 / 5787 is a year of experimenting and playing with the foundations of their friendship, now as All Hallows, and Nefesh Leeds.

Service Description

Join us as we gather to share the joys of our spiritual traditions and discover the deep, common roots that connect us. Together, we’ll unpack the rich treasures of our respective faiths—often finding that the wisdom we cherish is remarkably the same. Where our traditions diverge, we rejoice in what we share and find ourselves truly enriched by our differences. Step into a welcoming space dedicated to learning, connection, and deepening our understanding of one another. We will enjoy a Sunday morning service together - sharing song, prayer, and readings. This will start at 10.30am and last approximately one hour. There will be no expectation for full participation - just an openness and curiosity to that which is unfamiliar. We imagine this may particularly appeal to families with both Christian and Jewish heritage. The service will be followed by a bagel lunch with a chance to get to know each other and continue conversations which may have been initiated in the morning. We aim to finish by about 1.30pm. August 9th September 27th December 6th
